The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), counselling and psychotherapy involve the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources. The overall aim is to provide an opportunity for people to work towards living more satisfyingly and resourcefully. Counselling relationships will vary according to need but may be concerned with developmental issues, addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insights and knowledge, working through feelings of inner conflict or improving relationships with others.

Welcome to Integration Therapy!

My nam is Karen, and I am a registered psychotherapist, RP here to support you.

Prior to getting my masters in counselling psychology, and becoming a therapist, I worked as a pharmacist in clinical settings, biotech and sales. I’ve managed teams and projects but my passion lies in working with people one on one or in small groups. I have experience in addiction, relationship and intimacy issues, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, PTSD and ADHD. I am poly and kink friendly, and consider myself an ally to the LGBTQI2-S and BIPOC communities. I am also keeping abreast of the latest science and research surrounding psychedelic therapy and how that will assist in the treatment of trauma, PTSD and other disorders in the near future. I use a holistic approach to psychotherapy. Through this integrated approach, we will not only address what is present in each session, but also what is stored in your body by way of trauma or past hurts that are affecting your day to day life. We will explore past patterns of relating, and use a mindfulness-centered somatic approach for getting you unstuck, and healthier in each session. I believe that an honest and trusting relationship with a therapist is the start of a path towards healing and growth. Feel free to reach out for a free consultation, I am happy to answer any questions and concerns you have before starting therapy.
